How can we say Goodbye?
As we said Hello.
It is ironic that, as a photographer, I had difficulty looking at the pictures I took. I wasn’t brave enough to face the beauty, happiness, and love I experienced in those captured moments, and I didn’t dare admit that those times would never return.
I don’t remember how this fear went away, but I do now know how to peacefully say goodbye to a city, to the best of the times I was privileged to share with loved ones. How can we say Goodbye to such beautiful places, memories, and the people we were? We capture their elegance as we first saw them, the way we said Hello.

Hangzhou | China
This is a southern city where I spent countless days circling its lake, feeling surrounded by water and mountains, and noticing how the same air breathes differently every time I return.

Hongkong | China

Nanjing | China
Before I applied to college, I went to a temple in Nanjing and prayed for my future. Two months later, I returned to Nanjing, and my favorite leaves--maples--were there on Zijin Mountain to celebrate my next step with me.
